Invitation to Participate in an Oncology Biobanking Research Study
Dear Patient,
We are reaching out to invite you to participate in a research study that could help benefit both you and the broader cancer research community. This study, Proactive Mononuclear Cell Collection of Oncological Subjects (AC-MNC-001), aims to create a biobank of mononuclear cells (MNCs) from cancer patients to support advancements in immuno-oncology and personalized cell therapies.
Why Consider Participation?
No Cost to You for participation, including MNC collection and storage
Possible Future Benefits: Your cells will be preserved for potential future therapeutic use, although this is not guaranteed
Access to New and Investigational Treatment Options: You may be alerted to new and relevant treatment opportunities at no cost.
Help Advance Cancer Research: Your participation can help accelerate scientific discoveries and improve future treatment options
What Does Participation Involve?
If eligible, you may undergo a mononuclear cell (MNC) collection procedure (apheresis), a standard blood collection method. A portion of your collected cells will be securely stored for potential personal therapeutic use, while surplus cells may contribute to cancer research. In addition, you will be asked to share aspects of your treatment history and medical records to help us connect you to relevant treatment opportunities, some of which may be investigational.
You can choose to share your treatment history and medical records only, without undergoing an MNC collection, to take advantage of this service at no cost to you.
Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time without affecting your medical care. This research is being overseen by Sterling Institutional Review Board (IRB). An IRB is a group of people who perform independent review of research studies to ensure they are conducted in an ethical manner.
